Partner Churches

Supporting those who have supported us.

We could develop mission partnerships with people geographically closer but we chose Rwanda because they stood with us in our time of need.

Church partnerships are not limited to large budgets. Church plants with limited budgets are able to make an impact for the Kingdom in rural Rwanda while encouraging the congregation to think broadly about the church. We can join together to visit the region and host a visiting pastor to the U.S.

Our goal is to gather churches from the Anglican Diocese of Christ Our Hope, and other ACNA diocese to partner with churches in the same region of Rwanda for collaboration for mission trips and serving.

The essence of a church partnership is fostering a relationship between pastors and leaders between the churches for sharing prayers and progress between congregations.

Partnerships

Redeemer Anglican, Parkersburg, WV

Redeemer began a partnership with Gashonga in May 2015 as Pastor Jim Sallie visited Cyangugu with Bishop Quigg Lawrence. At that time the Gashonga church met in a store front with about 60 people. The church gave a tour of their newly acquired land and shared their dream of a new church building.

In May 2018 Jim visited again with his wife, Becci. They visited the new church building and stayed in the newly constructed pastor's home adjoining the church property. While living among the people of Gashonga, Jim taught church planters, youth and couples as well as preaching in the Christ the King Cathedral and Gashonga Parish.

Archdeacon Ephraim led the Sallies on a tour of church plants in neighboring villages that had been closed due to government regulations. The Sallies learned how planters are recruited, trained, placed and supported with meager resources to reach remote areas where others haven't gone.

Hope Church, Charleston, WV

Hope Church and Pastor Derek Roberts began a partnership with Nyenji Parish and Pastor Etienne in January 2019. The young church plant was able raise funds through special offerings to encourage a vision of generosity and a heart for the nations.

Nyenji Parish is located approximately 12 miles from Gashonga Parish. Pastor Etienne gathered over 100 people at his home with a shed added to hold church before the government closed it. They have purchased land and the church is pitching in to clear it to prepare for building. With the help of Hope Church they will begin building by summer of 2019.
