The gospel for the mind, body, and soul in rural Rwanda.
In 2018, the Rwanda government shut down over 8000 Christian churches, including seven church plants in the Gashonga Archdeaconry. These growing congregations in rural Rwanda were closed forcing its parishioners to forgo Sunday worship or walk hours to the nearest church.
Archdeacon Ephraim currently oversees two churches and seven church plants from Gashonga.
Gashonga is a town (sector) in the western province of rural Rwanda in the Rusizi District nearly half way between Cyangugu and Bugarama. Nearly half a million people live in the district.
This site is designed to tell the Gashonga story and connect church partners with parishes in the Gashonga Archdeaconry.

EVANGELISM
Taking the Gospel to the unreached in some of the most remote areas of Rwanda.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Romans 4:10
EDUCATION
Providing a quality, Christian education to children to give them a future and a hope. Without church schools, many would remain uneducated.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:7
DEVELOPMENT
With hope restored, the church helps train people to be productive and utilize their God-given strengths, skills, and talents.
Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Ephesians 4:28
HEALTH
The church ministers to the mind, body and soul. Through feeding programs, training, and the Mothers' Union, Christians care for the whole person.
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
About Gashonga
Located in beautiful Rwanda, Gashonga is known around the world for quality, full flavored coffee. The altitude and fertile soil provide local farmers with opportunity to grow an excellent bean which produces a low acid, smooth taste. There is a hunger for God and His word in a widely unreached area. The church provides opportunity for transformation spiritually, socially, economically, and emotionally. The church is making a difference to the greater community and is a model for other chuches to follow.
